Interactive Whiteboard
9/2023 A tool that I learned about that I am hoping to be able to incorporate into my own classroom is an Interactive Whiteboard. These are sophisticated displays that can be easily connected to computers. They can be mounted on stands or walls just like a regular, non-computerized whiteboard. With interactive whiteboards, the user can write, draw, edit images, etc, all while using a stylus, a pen, or just their fingers. Things that you do are able to be saved and emailed to students or whoever may need the information when you are done. This is an ideal thing for me to utilize in my classroom specifically going over math problems. My students would be able to compare their notes with mine to ensure they did not miss a step. The one drawback with an interactive whiteboard would be the overall cost. If you are needing to stick to a tight budget, it may not be an ideal purchase for your program. However, if extra funds are there, then by all means I think it would be a great addition. In my opinion, the pros would outweigh the cons. |

Digital Citizenship Project
10/2023
Digital Citizenship is a topic that is an important one to be talked about at any level of education. Being able to do a project that highlights the importance of Digital Citizenship was really neat to do in my opinion. I felt like I learned a lot by doing the project. Detailing what digital citizenship actually is as well as the nine elements gave me a broader understanding. I was then able to relay that information through a survey. I had twenty participants partake in the survey about what digital citizenship is and discuss various levels of importance. I was then able to collect the data and discuss it in a presentation. Seeing this data all laid out really helped me see where the gaps are about digital citizenship and where we can better address the topic.

Softchalk Assignment
11/2023
Another great tool that I learned to use was Softchalk. I had used it a couple of times as a student but had never used it from the teacher's side of things before. I was curious how it would actually work. Though my lesson was not about Machine Tool Technology, I can easily create an assignment for my students. We do a lot of math, specifically trigonometry, so creating a lesson for these types of classes that we do would be fairly simple. This is something I am playing around with and may implement into my classroom in future semesters.
